We had an amazing stay at Melaleuca On Mitchell - Darwin Yha. The staff went above and beyond to make our experience incredible. They allowed us to check in early after a long flight, which was a huge relief. The highlight of our stay was definitely the free Tuesday night dinner, followed by social games where we won free drinks. It was a great way to meet other guests and have a fun evening. we highly recommend this hostel for its friendly staff and enjoyable activities.

great mid city location walk to, eating, entertainment, shops, wharf, harbour beach with wave pool and other attractions.Helpful staff. Backpackers but great for older folk with it's double rooms, ensuite and air con.
no table in the room.

The location is awesome and the room was basic but reasonably clean. I think that there is a demand for basic budget business style accommodation in the CBD areas, but this is more of a backpakers.
It is great unless you actually wanted to sleep as it was too rowdy... This is not a complaint, but more of a fact. It would have been suitable if it weren't for the noise from the Bar area/disco.

Watch the amazing outback pass me by on an unforgettable train journey from Darwin to Adelaide. Stay at a modern co-living and private accommodation in the heart of Darwin CBD. Explore Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks on a once in a lifetime tour.
Who needs electrical sockets, working washing machines, and Wi-Fi that actually works? Definitely not me!

Friendly staff, convenient location near bars and supermarket, lots of activities available, pool and bar create a great atmosphere. Good price for beer, clean rooms, showers, and communal areas. Aircon and secure private rooms provided with clean bed linen and towels. Good value option for those looking for a fun and lively stay.

Need power point near the beds. Insufficient power points if there were 4 occupants to recharge phones/ipods/computers. 3 prong power outlet in bathroom needed for hair dryers the metal bunks are very basic and unstable/wobbly even when only one person - would be worse if there are two occupants - fixed beds would be more stable and comfortable. suggest double pillow cases for better hygiene.

I stayed in a 6 bed room. The door was secure and the lockers were a good size. It was hot on the lower bunk but I could see that you have tried to rectify this by using a fan opposite the airconditioner. The general layout was good and I think for young backpackers it is really good.

The central location of this hostel makes it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. It is within walking distance to all the main attractions and is surrounded by bars and restaurants. The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to provide recommendations and assistance. The highlight of my stay was the beautiful sunsets that can be enjoyed from the hostel's rooftop terrace. Watching the sun go down over the city skyline was truly mesmerizing.
My experience was marred by a few downsides. the lack of power sockets in the rooms and bathrooms was quite inconvenient, especially when the room was fully occupied.

Being in the heart of beautiful friendly Darwin, the Melaleuca is a great place to stay. The staff & services are wonderful. Its a clean and well run hostel. I'll be recommending it to everyone I know. The Top Enders are hard to beat. I wish we had stayed longer. I lived in Darwin 8 years ago for one year and stayed in the old Melaleuca so this place has a special place in my heart. It's such a welcoming place with everything you need at hand. Thank you for the memories Darwin xxx

Accommodation in Darwin is very expensive so although I think the room is overpriced for what you get it is still relatively cheap compared to other Darwin hotels. Room on the ground floor was pretty quiet as long as people didn't party in the corridor. Location is excellent.
The mess left by others in the kitchen. The immediate smell when you first open your door to the room. Cleared when the window was left open. The noisy rubbish truck taking away the empties early in the morning.
